SOF Truth: Competent Special Operations Forces cannot be created after emergencies occur.

Words to live by here. It is what keeps me humble, hungry and grounded. Throughout my military career, I have been fortunate to have had the opportunities to learn, train and grow. While it can be easy to become complacent and ride the coattails of “status“, I knew that realistically, we were only as good as our last engagement. That says a lot and speaks to a discipline required to stay ready.

Fast forward to today, post military service. The requirements to stay mentally and physically fit are no less. In fact, with everything going on in our country, it is probably more important to maintain a feasible level of readiness than ever before. I mean the need to be able to sprint to safely, fight off an attacker, perform emergency medical treatment to myself or a bystander is just as real here in Baltimore, Maryland as it was in any place I have ever deployed to abroad.

I believe it is the awareness of this reality or possibility, and the mindset to do what it takes to win, which will be the deciding factor now as it was then. I just need to make sure I have the discipline to prepare for the next emergency, before it occurs. One day at a time. Welcome to the LiteFighter365 mindset.
